How to Convert MOV to MP4 (Free, No Quality Loss)

MOV files from iPhones and Macs don't play natively on Windows or most web platforms. Converting to MP4 fixes compatibility without any quality loss if done correctly.

Method 1: HandBrake (Free, Best Quality Control)

HandBrake converts MOV to MP4 with precise control over codec and quality settings.

1. Download and install HandBrake (free, open-source, Mac/Windows/Linux)
2. Open HandBrake → drag your MOV file onto the window
3. Choose a preset: Fast 1080p30 (for web sharing) or H.265 MKV 1080p30 (for storage)
4. Set Format to MP4 in the Summary tab
5. Choose a destination file name
